January

CMP reports increased volumes. In 2016 CMP handled 15.7 million tonnes of goods. This is an increase of five per cent compared with the previous year, corresponding to around 700,000 tons.

February

Naming ceremony for MV Auto Energy, the largest dual-fuel PCTC (Pure Car & Truck Carrier) in the world. Auto Energy is powered by LNG for cleaner and environmentally friendly operations.

March

CMP focuses on its collaborative partners in Cruise Copenhagen, which are the reason that the port can pick up awards and recognition as the best cruise port and destination.

April

The cruising season commences with Aidacara calling to the port. The number of ports of call is up 2017 and CMP is taking on a greater number of cruise passengers then previously. 

May

Liquid bulk handling capacity is being fine-tuned. CMP is investing in yet another automatic loading arm at Prøvestenen in Copenhagen. This will make loading more effective and increase safety.

June

NYK Group Europe announces that CMP has received the distinguished accolade "Certificate of Zero Damages FY2016" as a confirmation of the fact that the damage rate for car handling in Malmö is essentially zero.

July

In Copenhagen, CMP has invested in a new system that can meet the requirements for the accuracy of weighing containers for VGM.

August

CMP is taking the container terminal one step further in work to rationalise processes and is now offering a Mobile Self Service function for haulers to use.

September

Barbara Scheel Agersnap is appointed new CEO of CMP. She has been deputy CEO of CMP since June 2015.

Two new mobile cranes are in place in Swede Harbour in Malmö. They offer a significant increase in flexibility, as they are not track-based, and the lifting capacity is much higher than before.

October

CMP is crowned the winner of 'Future Transport Award', because CMP is "one of the best ambassadors for the intermodal concept in Sweden". 

Mercedes Benz and CMP have signed a contract relating to the rental of outdoor space and a vehicle handling/- service contract in Malmö. This involves a total area of around 6,100 square meters.

New record at the container terminal in Copenhagen. A total of 955 lifting operations took place on one vessel, corresponding to 1,601 TEUs.

November

CMP steps up collaboration with the construction industry and deliver solutions in the form of managing the costomers' logistics terminal, so they can concentrate on construction.

CMP is a hub for handling concrete panels in Malmö. This is down to the port's strategic location in an expansive region, but also to the top-class service with minimal damage of goods.

December

Boost in collaboration with SCA Logistics. Malmö is the hub for environmentally-friendly local shipping, which transports paper products, primarily newsprint to customers in Denmark.

Copenhagen attracts more Christmas and New Years cruises. In December, CMP welcomes around 6,000 passengers, who will visit attractions including the classic Christmas market at Tivoli.
